What cures quicker LED or UV?
UV lamps can take longer to cure your gel polish. Typically a layer of gel polish will take 2 minutes to fully cure. Whereas LED lamps, with their narrower wavelengths, can cure polish a lot quicker. An LED lamp can cure a layer of gel polish in just 30 seconds, or flash cure a nail art design in just 15 seconds.
Can normal nail polish dry under LED light?
That’s right, you can turn ANY regular polish into a gel polish. It cures in a UV or LED lamp, is instantly dry and has the long-lasting wear of a gel polish.
Is UV LED lamp harmful?
Exposure to UV radiation can cause damage to your skin, especially if you’re exposed over time. For example, it can lead to premature wrinkles, age spots, and even skin cancer. But the FDA views nail curing lamps as low risk when used as directed by the label.
Can you over cure LED gel polish?
Over-curing a gel is possible. Some gels will discolor when over-cured and some will lose the gloss, while others will do both or neither. So much of this depends on the gel and the curing light. Each manufacturer should be able to assist the nail technician in what issues they may see with over-curing the product.
